Ventoux Saveurs Festival

Oct 25
Pleasure-seekers, take a gourmet tour between flavours and scents in the Parc du Mont-Ventoux with the Ventoux Saveurs Festival. For a whole month, there’s a succession of events and regional hikes where you can meet the winegrowers of the Ventoux, goat or open-air pig farmers, plunge into the life of a lavender distillery or a vegetable grower, and pick wild edible plants or learn to cook small spelt.

Mount Ventoux is a mountain in the Provence region of southern France, located some 20 km (12 miles) northeast of Carpentras, Vaucluse.  As the name suggests (venteux means windy in French), it can get windy at the summit, especially with the mistral; wind speeds as high as 320 km/h (200 mph) have been recorded. The wind blows at over 90 km/h (56 mph) for 240 days a year.
