This rather long word simply means "today" in French. However, fully translated it means "On the day of today", as the four words: Au-jour-d'hui..... In fact, the word "HUI" actually means today (though never said anymore as just one word), much like its Spanish counterpart HOY, both coming from the Latin HODIE for today.
